There’s pollen everywhere, destroying all our lives. For some people, who are allergic it can cause intense dizzy spells. Apart from various other illnesses, vertigo is one of the symptoms. It is a condition, in which, a person feels dizzy and disconnected. The person may even feel disoriented and nauseous.

Well, we are in the middle of the allergy season, so some allergy sufferers may be going through vertigo. Allergies can cause congestion; thereby, leading to disorientation.

According to the Silverstein Institute for nose, ear and throat, allergies can cause irritation in the ear down to the back of the throat. This region is called Eustachian tube whose secondary job is to keep us balanced.

When it gets blocked, it is not able to maintain the required pressure in the ear, which disbalances the body. And, this is when you feel dizzy.

Sinus congestion and vertigo occur when the body reaction to some foreign object. In this case, the foreign body is pollen. When the immune system works against these bodies, allergy symptoms like irritation in throat and nasal congestion show up. Well, in such cases, the body or precisely, the immune system attempts to ward off the condition, and it is just doing its job. So, it’s not something to be dreaded.

Those with allergies have some options. Over-the-counter (OTC) antihistamines like Benadryl, Zyrtec and Sudafed are available. If these medications don’t work, then you must speak to an allergist. As a matter of fact, there is no single remedy for allergy. It depends on what works best for you.

The weather is getting strange with each passing year and the allergy season too is getting worse. Temperatures are transitioning from very cold to very warm pretty quickly. So, this causes trees to pollinate all at once instead of getting pollinated gradually over months.
