General Usage: used as Analgesic Combinations

Brief Info about Cephadyn in Drug:

Generic name of this medicine is Acetaminophen & Butalbital. It is sold under some brand names such as – Phrenilin, Cephadyn, Sedapap Phrenilin Forte, Bupa, Promacet, Marten-Tab.

Acetaminophen is a fever reducer & pain reliever.

Butalbital belongs to a class of medicines known as Barbiturates. It acts by relaxing muscle contractions that are involved in a tension headache. Cephadyn is used to diagnose tension headaches.

Note: This drug is not for curing headaches that come & go.

Cephadyn Side Effects Explained Better:

From the over the counter medication to the prescription medicine, it seems like as it is very difficult to get a medicine without a veritable laundry list of unpleasant effects on its packaging. However, unfavorable effects are uncommon & occur only to a small fraction of people but they do still occur. In many cases, adverse effects are minor while comparing to the condition that the drug is designed to treat a disease.   • Dry mouth

  • Leg pain
  • Ringing in your ears or ear pain
  • Drunk feeling
  • Stuffy nose
  • Mild itching

  • Symptoms of an allergic reaction-
    • Hives
    • Swelling of your throat, face, lips or tongue
    • Difficulty breathing
  • Feeling short of breath
  • Feeling like you might pass out
  • Pounding or fast heart rate
  • Stomach pain, itching, nausea, loss of appetite, clay colored stools, dark urine
  • Convulsions (seizure)
  • Depression & confusion
  • Excited feeling restless, agitated
  • Symptoms of jaundice-
    • Yellowing of the eyes or skin

Cephadyn Overdose Side Effects (Require Immediate Medical Attention)-

Here are some symptoms after having extra amount of Cephadyn –

The initial signs of Cephadyn overdose are as follows

  • Vomiting
  • Weakness or confusion
  • Nausea
  • Loss of appetite
  • Stomach pain
  • Sweating

The later symptoms of Cephadyn overdose are as follows-

  • Pain in upper stomach
  • Yellowing of whites of eyes or the skin
  • Dark urine

Cephadyn Overdose symptoms may include-

  • No breathing or shallow breathing
  • Confusion
  • Extreme drowsiness
  • Fainting

Don’t ignore these unpleasant effects and get medical attention at the earliest.

Cephadyn Drug Interaction Side Effects (Due to Reaction with Other drugs)-

When more than one drug is consumed simultaneously they may interact with each other results in weird effects that are pernicious to health and may prove to be lethal. Tell your medical healthcare provider if you are having-

  • Narcotic pain medicine
  • Allergy or cold medicine
  • Medicine for seizures, anxiety or depression
  • Sleeping pills
  • SedativesS
  • Muscle relaxers

    • Isocarboxazid (marplan)
    • Furazolidone (furoxone)
    • Rasagiline (azilect)
    • Tranylcypromine (parnate)

    • Selegiline (eldepryl, zelapar, emsam)
