Generic name of this medicine is Ceftazidime. It is marketed under some brand names like Tazicef, Fortaz in U.S and Cepta in Canada.

Ceftazidime injection is used to cure infections caused by bacteria in different areas of the body. It is a part of a class of drugs called as cephalosporin antibiotics. It acts by killing bacteria or stopping their growth. Though, this drug will not work for flu, colds or other viral infections.
