Generic name of Cayston is Aztreonam. It is sold under a brand name known as Cayston.

Aztreonam inhalation is used to cure lung infections in people with cystic fibrosis.

Aztreonam inhalation is an antibiotic. This drug is inhaled into our lungs through mouth to cure infections that are caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria.

Aztreonam acts by either killing bacteria or stopping their growth. However, this drug will not work for flu, colds or other virus infections.
