Commonly used Asthma Drug Budesonide shows amazing potential as miracle drug for COVID-19

Asthma Drug Budesonide for covid-19

Dr. Richard Bartlett, a West Texas doctor says an inhaled steroid, Budesonide, a drug commonly used to treat asthma, is the “silver bullet” for COVID-19. In a recent interview with KWES-TV in Odessa praised the drug and said this is an inhaled steroid and it doesn’t have the side effects which are produced by total body steroids as this drug directly reaches the lungs and works its magic. “It’s like putting out a fire at the base of the fire. I’m having patients recover so quick.”

Bartlett, is an emergency room doctor and has been working for 28 years. He has been treating high-risk COVID-19 patients who are in the high-risk groups such as the elderly or those with conditions such as heart disease and cancer, with the inhaled steroid. Dr. Bartlett insists that this drug works very efficiently and even a single dose makes patients feel better. Doctor has treated a lot of COVID patients using this medicine and every time he has seen success.

COVID-19 virus gains entry through the respiratory system and within days it moves on to the lungs. In the lungs in high-risk patients, it causes severe inflammation that leads to organ failure and death.

Bartlett claims that this steroid drug if administered at the stage can reduce or totally stops that inflammation thereby preventing other complications and helps patients recover from the disease smoothly.
The best part about this medicine is that it, and is FDA approved for asthma and has been on the market for 25 years making it a safe drug. Dr. Bartlett based on his experience of treating COVID patients claims that the earlier a patient is treated with this drug, the better are the patient’s chances of having 100 % survival rate.
Regional health officials, however, warned there have not been enough studies into Bartlett’s claims and studies are going on.
