Physical and mental health benefits of Tai Chi

Tai Chi has not received much recognition in the recent past for its impact on improving the quality of life. Nevertheless, it is a great method to relieve stress and physical conditions. Tai Chi comprises slow exercises like meditation and deep breathing.

According to the U.S. National Center for Complementary and Integrative health, Tai chi helps improve muscle strength, balance and flexibility. Moreover, Tai Chi is known for improving medical conditions like arthritis and high blood pressure. It is effective in the treatment of osteoporosis, i.e., weakening of bone density after menopause.

Tai Chi is not only effective in the treatment of physical ailments, but also helps in psychological issues like stress and anxiety. Tai Chi is not very intense. Its mild nature makes it easier to perform by any kind of people; be it a beginner or an expert with some years of practice.

However, you should consult your doctor before incorporating Tai Chi in your fitness regime. You can continue with your cardio as Tai Chi does not boost your heart rate much.
