Have you lately been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis (RA)? If yes, you are at the right place. Drink a cup of green tea and consume some blueberries. According to researchers, these foods may relieve you from your pain and alleviate swelling in your joints. Other foods that may help are pomegranate, whole grains, ginger and turmeric. These foods help reduce inflammation and stiffness in joints. This study was published in the journal, Frontiers in Nutrition.
According to the study author, Bhawna Gupta, assistant professor in school of biotechnology at KIIT University, Odisha, India, regular intake of foods and fruits containing fiber and those that lacks inflammation-casing elements can help patients to effectively manage RA.
Gupta said that patients with RA should not consume omnivorous diet, reduce alcohol consumption and cut out on smoking. They should switch to elemental and vegan diets. Consuming probiotics like yogurt and other dietary supplements can also help them a lot.
Treatment of RA is costly as it includes anti-rheumatic drugs that are quite costly. The better option is to manage disease through food and diet as this approach has no side effects and not costly as well.
