Generic name of this drug is Pseudoephedrine. It is sold under many trade names like Biofed, Genaphed, Contac 12 Hour, Cenafed, Dimetapp Decongestant, Simply Stuffy, 12 Hour Cold Maximum Strength etc.

Pseudoephedrine is used to treat sinus or nasal congestion caused by sinusitis, common cold, hay fever & other respiratory allergies. It is also used to cure ear congestion caused by ear infection or inflammation.

Side effect??? “Undesired effect that is associated with a drug besides its desired effect”. These two words are attracting every person because people are so much apprehensive about their health these days. They are keen to know about drug’s side effects, its effect on body before taking it. Some drugs are taken lifelong that may create a problem later but it is not sure that all patients will experience side effects.

You must notify your doctor about some medical problems such as- Overactive Thyroid, High Blood Pressure and Type 2 diabetes or mellitus because pseudoephedrine may make the condition worse.

Use this medicine just as directed on the label or prescribed by your doctor if it is used in larger amount than recommended, it will cause some side effects for sure.

Cenafed Drug Interaction Side Effects (Due to Reaction with Other drugs)-

Using Cenafed with any of the following drugs is not recommended. Your medical healthcare provider may decide not to diagnose you with this drug-

  • Dihydroergotamine
  • Clorgyline
  • Iproniazid
  • Furazolidone
  • Linezolid

  • Pargyline
  • Moclobemide
  • Nialamide
